Duane Wires, O.D.

Dr. Duane Wires graduated from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 1984 and purchased a small practice in Ada, Ohio. One year later, he built a new structure for what is now Eyes on Main Ada and has been actively forging relationships and improving the quality of his patients' vision ever since. Dr. Wires has never been one to accept the status quo and continuously strives to invest in patient care, state-of-the-art equipment, and the latest technology.

In 2006, Dr. Wires expanded and opened a second optometrist office in downtown Findlay, Ohio (Eyes on Main). This practice has proved to be precisely what Findlay needed and has become the premier location for eye care and eyewear. Due to the tremendous success of Findlay's Eyes on Main, Dr. Wires purchased the adjacent building to more than double the size of the optometric practice.

In the late fall of 2012, the office reopened with its expanded space, and he filled every inch with improved service, facilities, and equipment. Dr. Wires is a past clinical instructor at the OSU College of Optometry and has been a consultant to Eyefinity Practice Management and TLC, The Laser Center, Inc., a refractive vision correction company.

Dr. Wires' contributions to the field of optometry extend beyond patient care. He holds two patents in optical lens technology, rapid lens manufacturing, and photochromatic lenses. The lens manufacturing system that Dr. Wires invented was not just a technological advancement, but a game-changer. It was used during the Iraq/Afghan War to produce optical lenses in the field for the United States Army, leaving a lasting impact on the field of optometry.
